THERMOS KIT

Fall 2025 - 5 weeks

The goal of this project was to design a drink set for a specific context.

The drink I chose to design around was mulled apple cider, and the context was skiing.

RESEARCH + INSPIRATION

After researching several different drinks from all around the world I decided on mulled apple cider.

JOURNEY MAPS

Created journey maps for my selected context of skiing, and the process of making apple cider.

A single journey map for enjoying mulled apple cider at the ski mountain.

2D EXPLORATION

Initial sketches focusing on a thermos, cup, and pot.

ITERATIONS

Further sketches of different components of a thermos kit. Now consisting of a thermos, cup, pot, and camp stove.

3D EXPLORATION

Creating 2.5D models to better visualize different sets. Allowing me to adjust proportions to suit the user.

ITERATIONS

Final direction decided where all components fit inside camp stove for easy travel. Designed for tailgating at the ski mountain.

INITIAL CAD

First run at CAD, adjusting design to create a family of form. Camp stove was originally designed to be electric, but later changed to gas powered.

ITERATIONS

Created a family through consistent angles, materials, and paint.

KEY DETAILS

The pot has a soft rubber piece between the screw to attach the handle ensuring a water tight connection. It also has two screws so the handle will not twist. The thermos is double wall vacuum insulated and has room in the bottom cup to carry cinnamon sticks and other spices up the mountain. The camp stove has hand grips to easily carry and rubber pieces on the bottom to protect the stone.
